Then type out "flashplayer26_0r0_131_winax.exe /force" (without the quotes) - then the installer will open, but will not "force quit" because it's "not the newest version"! Also, do NOT forget to tick the little box for "NEVER CHECK FOR UPDATES (NOT RECOMMENDED)" during the installation.! So, what you have to do in order to install it anyway, getting around the dumb error, is: Open a command prompt where the EXE resides. It will give you some BS error that "it's not the most recent version", and then "close out". Now, if you go to install that version "normally" or "the normal way", it will actually not let you install it. Which, if you wish to do the same, you must locate (hopefully from a trustworthy source) Adobe Flash version 26.0.0.131 ~ THAT is the version you're looking for! It will make your screensavers that rely on flash, work again! More specifically you're looking for "flashplayer26_0r0_131_winax.exe". This worked like a CHARM! I uninstalled newest version(s) of flash, and specifically installed the "latest" version of flash player released PRIOR to JUL of 2017. I figured that would be the best one to install (that wouldn't self terminate) and allow me to continue to use my "old/outdated" screensaver(s) that I enjoy so much!

So, Luckily, I am a digital archiver myself, all I had to do was dig through my archive drive for the "latest" version of Flash ~ PRIOR to JULY of 2017. I noticed that the date they announced the 'death' of Flash was WAY back in JUL of 2017. So, I looked up the date when they announced they'd be "killing" flash, ergo, the date they knew for sure that they were going to kill it on (and "turn it off" on JAN 12, 2021). And likely any version since they've publicly announced the EOL of Flash! A nice screensaver made by/for the manufacturer FOR the product! The problem isn't just that Adobe no longer "supports" flash, but is rather that they actually (basically) set it to "self destruct". I have a screensaver that relies on Flash from a laptop I purchased in 2012.
